He was born 16 Nov 1923 in Gardner, Grundy, Illinois and died 14 Mar 1945 at age 21 in France. He was riding in a jeep that went over a land mine that exploded. He was first buried in St. Avoid Military Cemetery in Alsace-Lorraine, France. After the war, his body was brought back to the States. He is now buried at Gardner Prairie Cemetery, Gardner, Grundy, Illinois.
