Sandra Smith, nurse, volunteer

Sandra Smith, 58, of 215 Michael J. Koury St., Easton, died Saturday, March 25, in Warren Hospital.

She was a licensed practical nurse.

Born July 6, 1941 in Berwyn, Ill., she was a daughter of the late Irvin E. Zastrow and the late Catherine Elliott Kloosterman.

She was a volunteer and peer counselor of Alcoholics Anonymous; Narcotics Anonymous; Wilson Unity Group; Turning Point of Lehigh Valley; Center for Independent Living, Allentown and Northampton County Prison and was a sponsor of many people in the 12-step Fellowship.

She was a graduate of Westfield High School in Westfield, N.J. She graduated in 1960 from Overlook Hospital School of Nursing, Summit, N.J.

She is survived by a daughter, Margo Frinzi of Alpha; two sons, Eric Nelson of Phillipsburg and Christopher Smith of Kunkletown, Pa; a step-son, Christopher Lineman of Laury's Station, Pa; two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A sister, Margo Goldsby, died earlier.

Service is 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Ashton Funeral Home, 14th and Northampton streets, Easton. Call 6 p.m. until service time Monday in the funeral home.

Burial will be private.
