Homer H. Brown 1909 - 2005 TUCSON, Ariz. - Homer H. Brown, 96, Tucson, Ariz., and formerly of Chanute, died Friday, April 1, 2005. He was born Aug. 16, 1909, the son of Edward Elmer and Pearl Elizabeth Cassingham Brown. In 1936, he moved from Chanute to Colorado, and to Arizona in 1996. He farmed and worked for the Public Service Co. and Rio Grande Motorway. He served several times as president of Slope Motorway Credit Union, was a past president of Meridian Mobile Home Park where he was in charge of pancake breakfasts, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Grand Junction, Colo. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed bowling, playing pool and fishing. Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Shumate, and a grandson, both of Tucson. His wife, Isla, preceded him in death in 2003. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Memorial Gardens of the Valley, 2970 North Ave., Grand Junction, Colo. Memorials to TMC Hospice may be sent to the funeral home.
