Rick Herrell, 49 Rick Herrell, 49, Peru, passed away at 4 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005 at his home. He was born Oct. 19, 1955 in Peru to William "Bill" and Barbara Ogle Herrell. He married Cheryl Harkin Herrell Sept. 1, 2001, and she survives. Herrell worked at VCA Antech Inc. His life centered around his family, he loved animals and was a member of the Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse Association. Herrell also was involved in the development of "Cass County's Living History Reenactment." Survivors besides his wife include two sons, Jacob and Ben Byers, both of Peru; a daughter, Cherri Byers, Peru; an uncle, William Ogle and wife Shirley, Kokomo; two aunts, Penny Barrows and husband Byron, Hot Springs, Ark., and Addie "Pete" Reed and husband Ron, Peru; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, Bunker Hill, with the Rev. Marvin Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery, Bunker Hill. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
