Betty McMahan Cassingham Betty McMahan Cassingham, age 78, of Hamilton, Ohio, formerly of Micaville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at her home. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. Bis and Bertha Carroll McMahan. She was also preceded in death by two children: Alfred Cassingham and Elizabeth Carroll; sisters: Lydia McMahan, Dollie Martin, Gladys Saylor, and Glenna Randall; brothers: Paul, Silas, Charlie and Walter McMahan. Surviving are her loving husband, Alan Cassingham; daughter, Kimberly Cassingham; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters: Ola Young of Micaville, and Violet Buchanan and husband, Donald, of Spruce Pine; brothers: Lawrence McMahan and wife, Madge of Bakersville and Claude McMahan of Burnsville. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 6th in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Brother Claude McMahan, will officiate. Burial will follow in the McMahan Cemetery on Double Island. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services |
