Gladys Peck Gladys L. Peck, 92, of LaHarpe, Ill., died at 3:05 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at LaMoine Christian Nursing Home in Roseville, Ill. Born Aug. 14, 1912, near Raritan, Ill., she was the daughter of Ray and Estella Gaumer Driskell. On Oct. 16, 1948, she married Kenneth Peck in Carthage, Ill. He died Dec. 21, 1989. Mrs. Peck worked in school cafeterias for 15 years, first in Terre Haute, Ill., and then in LaHarpe, retiring in 1981. She was a graduate of Blandinsville High School. For 20 years, she volunteered at LaHarpe–Davier Health Care Center. Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Maddox of Houston and Gloria Brown of Fisher, Ill.; five grandchildren; seven great–grandchildren; six great–great–grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and her parents. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to the time of service Monday. The funeral for Mrs. Peck will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial will be in LaHarpe Cemetery. Memorials have been established for LaHarpe Senior Citizens and LaHarpe Ambulance Service. |
