| [From the Canton Daily Ledger, Canton, IL, Tue Apr 28, 2009] CANTON, Ill. - Dorothy Phillips Dorothy I. Phillips, 90, of Canton, passed away at 6 a.m. Sunday (April 26, 2009) at Red Oak Estates in Canton. Born April 11, 1919, in Cuba, the daughter of Frank and Myrtle (Fearce) Brown, she married Clarence M. Phillips on September 28, 1941, in Canton. He died November 7, 2005. She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Survivors include one son, William (Kathleen) Phillips of Canton; three daughters, Martha (Thomas) Kepple of Farmington, and Lee (Jack) Trotter-Carew and Bobbie (David) Davis, both of Canton; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was a devoted and loving mother. She had a great sense of humor and outlook on life. She and her husband, Cliff, had a wonderful 64-year marriage. Following in her mother’s tradition, Dorothy loved flower gardening. Cremation Rites have been accorded. There will be a private family memorial service at a later date.
