JONES - Cassingham, Jessie J., died July 19, 1995

Jessie J. Cassingham, 90, 67095 Hillcrest Drive, died July 19, 1995, at her home, following an extended illness.

She was born March 3, 1905, in Brown County, Ill., a daughter of Nicholas and Minnie (Newman) Kinman.

On Nov. 23, 1927, she married William Alden Cassingham, in LaHarpe, Ill. He died Oct. 10, 1986.

She was a Jones resident since October 1991, coming from Crete, Ill. Most of her life, she had lived in Oak Lawn, Ill. she graduated with a teaching degree from Western Illinois University. She was a school teacher many years, the last 25 years of her teaching career was at Leib Schools, Oak Lawn, Ill. She retired in 1970. She attended the Porter Baptist Church, Jones, and was a member of the Jordon Baptist Church, Burbank, Ill., and the Mason-Union Garden Club, Union.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jewell (Mary Jo) "Dusty" Rhodes, Jones, and Mrs. William (Zeta) Street, Crete; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Alice) Hendrick, Constantine; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers and one great-grandson.

Relatives and friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the Farrand Funeral Home, White Pigeon, where the family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today. She will then be taken to the Crete, Ill., Funeral Home, where visitation is from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday. Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Jordan Baptist Church, 5040 W. 87th St., Burbank, Ill., with the Rev. James Wing officiating. Burial will be in Willow Hills Cemetery, Willow Springs, Ill.

Memorials may be directed to the Cass County Michigan Council on Aging. Envelopes are available at the Farrand Funeral Home, White Pigeon.
