Robert G. Oliver

A 19-year-old Fulton boy died at Logansport Memorial hospital this morning after he was severely mangled in an industrial accident at the Krause Milling company plant at Ind. 25 and County Road 300 South in Cass County. State police said Robert G. Oliver, R.R. 6, Rochester, died from injuries suffered when he fell into a grain auger on the third floor of the plant around 4:30 a.m. today. Officers said the boy died around 6:15 a.m. Police said it is believed Oliver removed an inspection plate which covered the Auger and then fell feet-first into the auger. The temperature was about 200 degrees in the auger housing at the time. Authorities said it is unknown why the inspection plate was removed and reported that no one else was near the auger when the accident occurred. Police are continuing their investigation. Funeral arrangements for Oliver 1974 graduate of Caston high school, are pending at the Ditmire-Zimmerman funeral home, Fulton.
