On 1 Sep 1897, he married Emma Harer in Heppner, Morrow, Oregon. She is the daughter of Evan H. Harer and Eliza Jane Tulk. She was born 3 May 1860/1864 in Oregon. She died 13 Oct 1939 at age 75 in Vancouver, Clark, Washington. After Harrison's death, she married Mr. Ricel.

   • On 24 Dec 1923, Sarah Dorothy Polkinghorne. She is the daughter of James Polkinghorne and Mary. She was born 2 Aug 1898 in British Columbia, Canada. She moved to the United States in Dec 1910 from Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. She was only 11 years old at the time, but no traveling companion is mentioned in the records. Her destination was Walsenburg, Huerfano, Colorado. She became a U.S. citizen in 1923. She died in Jun 1974 at age 75 in Chula Vista, San Diego, California. She and Gilbert reportedly have 3 children.
3. Reuben McKinley Cummings was born 1 Sep 1901 in Hardman, Morrow, Oregon. He died 20 Feb 1911 at age 9 in Morrow county, Oregon.

Harrison: Harrison's middle name is thought by many to be Gilbert rather than Columbia. I have not been able to substantiate either middle name.
