Mary Cummings is the daughter of Ebenezer Cummings and Jane Harris. She was born 24 Dec 1821 in Three Rivers, Quebec, Canada. She died 15 Aug 1880 at age 58 in Batavia, Kane, Illinois. She is buried at East Batavia Cemetery (Sec. 10 Lot 44 #4), Batavia, Kane, Illinois.
On 4 Aug 1841, she married Charles Barnabas Vermilyer in Newcastle District, Cramahe (Crammie), Northumberland, Ontario, Canada. Barney, as he was known, was born either 15 Mar 1824 in New York or 14 Mar 1825 in Upper Canada. After their divorce, Charles married Harriet A. Keller with whom he fathered seven children. He died 8 Feb 1903 -- just short of his 78th or 79th birthday. He is buried at Salem Cemetery, La Porte, La Porte, Indiana.
