John Austin Edwards is the son of Ebenezer Edwards and Elizabeth A. Daniels. He was born 4 Apr 1856 in Iowa (apparently either Johnson or Madison county). He died 17 May 1936 at age 80 in Silt, Garfield, Colorado. He is buried at Buffalo, Harper, Oklahoma.

On 11 Oct 1881, he married Sarah Rose Ann Perry in Marion, Marion, Kansas. She is the daughter of Giles Perry and Hannah Marie Witherell. She was born 18 Sep 1861 in Wayne county, Iowa. She died 23 Mar 1961 at age 99 in Buffalo, Harper, Oklahoma.
