He died 8 October 1986 -- just shy of his 69th birthday -- in Englewood, Arapahoe, Colorado. On 11 Oct 1986, he was buried at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Arapahoe, Colorado.

On 7 June 1936, he married Ava I. Rollins in Colby, Thomas, Kansas. She is the daughter of Lewis H. Rollins and Lillie B. (unknown). She was born 3 March 1915 in Kansas. She died 1 May 1988 at age 73 in Englewood, Arapahoe, Colorado.
