Irene Pearl Winterowd is the daughter of Thirza May Swaim and Ira James Winterowd. She was born 1 March 1913 in Hill City, Graham, Kansas. She died 3 Feb 2009 -- just one month short of her 96th birthday -- in Hill City, Graham, Kansas. On 7 Feb 2009, she was buried at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Hill City, Graham, Kansas.

On 6/9 June 1934, she married Roy Calvin Salladay in Hill City, Graham, Kansas. He is the son of Voldy Wadsworth Salladay and Margaret Lucressa Lein.
