Reuben Alpheus Edwards is the son of Norman Ulysses Edwards (Sr.) and Elizabeth Melissa Hastings. He was born 1 December 1857 in Union, Hancock, Ohio. He died 3 February 1922 at age 64 in Los Angeles County, California. He was buried 4 February 1922 at Pacific Crest Cemetery, Redondo Beach, Los Angeles, California.

• He married (1) Cordelia Isman.
• About 1904, he married (2) Minnie McDermott. She was born 31 Jul 1888 in Illinois. She died in Jun 1983 at age 94 in Aberdeen, Grays Harbor, Washington. This marriage ended in divorce about 1910/1915. Minnie later married Charles Pyburn.

Family tradition says that Minnie gave birth to 2 children in the 1904 to 1906 time frame: Minnie Katherine and an unnamed boy who died the day he was born. I can not find any evidence of the boy. Indeed, in the 1910 census, Minnie states that she has given birth to only 1 child (Minnie Katherine). I suppose the boy could have been the son of Cordelia Isman, but I have not found any evidence of her, yet, either.
