Susan Edwards is the daughter of Harmon Edwards and Mical Owings. She was born 1836/1837 in Liberty, Fairfield, Ohio. She probably died between 1864 and 1870 in Illinois since she does not appear in the 1870 census.

On 31 Aug 1856, she married George Clevidence in Carroll County, Illinois. He is the son of Daniel Clevidence and Elizabeth Bond. He was born about 1828 in Maryland.

Children of Susan Edwards and George Clevidence:

1. Martha Ann Clevidence was born about 1856 in Illinois.
2. John H. Clevidence was born about 1858/1859 in Illinois. He died 28 Feb 1896 in Jackson County, Iowa. He is buried at Preston Cemetery, Preston, Jackson, Iowa.
3. Elizabeth Clevidence was born about Aug 1859 in Illinois.
4. George T. Clevidence was born in Feb 1862 in Illinois.
5. Susie Clevidence was born about 1864 in Illinois.

Notes

Martha:

• Martha is listed as "Martha" in the 1860 census and "Annie" in the 1870 census. I assume she was named for Susan's sister, Martha Ann, who apparently died just about the time this Martha was born.
• It is not absolutely certain that the "Annie" who appears in the 1870 census is the same as the "Martha" who appears in the 1860 census. It would seem that Susan was no longer living in 1870. Annie Clevidence is listed as an apparent orphan in 1870 in the home of Susan's sister, Angeline. She is the correct age to be the "Martha" who was listed as Susan's daughter in the 1860 census. I assume the two are one and the same.

George T.: I assume that George T. is a son of George and Susan. He appears in the 1870 census as an apparent orphan. In the 1900 census, he lists his parents' birth places as Maryland and Ohio, which fits George and Susan exactly.

Susie: I assume that Susie is a daughter of George and Susan. She appears in the 1870 census as an apparent orphan living in the same home as Thomas Williams who had been living with George and Susan in 1860.
