• On 1 January 1877, he married Harriet E. Murgatroyd in Beatrice, Gage, Nebraska. She is the daughter of John Blackburn Murgatroyd and Alice Whitaker. She was born 8 July 1857 in Brighton, Kenosha, Wisconsin. She died 6 February 1934 at age 76.
