He died 18 June 2008 at age 73 in Brownsdale, Mower, Minnesota. On 21 June 2008, he was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Brownsdale, Mower, Minnesota.

• On 16 June 1956, he married Ida Mae Farrell in Brownsdale, Mower, Minnesota. She is the daughter of Everett Farrell and Velma Ohland. She was born in 1936 in Minnesota.
