In June 1938, he married Ruth E. Miller in Allen county, Ohio. She is the daughter of Arthur Randolph Miller and Matilda Martha Steiner. She was born 23 April 1918 in Springfield, Clark, Ohio. She died 10 June 2006 at age 88 in Bluffton, Allen, Ohio. On 13 June 2006, she was buried at Clymer Cemetery, Mt. Cory, Hancock, Ohio.
