Helen Erlene Barnett

Helen Erlene Barnett, 67 passed away peacefully, January 15, 2009, at Rideout Hospital. Erlene was born February 2, 1941 in Juneau, Alaska. She had lived in the Marysville area since 1958. She was the eldest daughter of Earl and Helen Miller. She was a member of the singing family "Earl Miller and the Millerines". The group sang throughout California in the late 50's and 60's. They performed often on the Bill Rase Show on KCRA TV and the March of Dimes Telethon.

Erlene was a loving wife to Jerrie Barnett and helped her husband with Barnett Rotor Craft. She enjoyed her many cats, gardening, her "strawberry room" and time with her children and grandchildren, especially her time in Fort Bragg at her favorite place, "Jerrie's Beach," where there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date. Local services were held on January 16, at Holy Cross Memorial Chapel.

She is survived by her husband, Jerrie, of Olivehurst; son and daughter-in-law, Lonny and Liz Ownbey of Olivehurst; daughter, Lynnae Hope of Marysville; son, Allen Ownbey of Fort Bragg. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Sarah and Ayla Clark, Eddie, Eric and Evan Ownbey, Chelsea Ownbey, Samantha Ownbey, Austin and Josh Ownbey. Her survivors also include her siblings: Kathlene Miller of Marysville, Colleen Shepherd of Roseville, Laurie Little of Sutter, Skip Miller of Sacramento, Sherie Miller of Marysville, Glenn Miller of Yuba City, Gaylene Long of Yuba City and Gary Miller of Reno. Survivors also include many nieces and nephews throughout the area.

She is preceded in passing by her son, Andy Ownbey, sister, Darlene Miller, and parents, Earl and Helen Miller. She will be missed by many!
