Descendants of Joseph Edwards
[Salina Journal, Salina, KS, 1 October 2003] Roland A. Bird Sr., 77, Salina, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003. Mr. Bird was born June 23, 1926, at Quinter. He worked as an accountant for the Kansas Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janette, in 1993; a son, Jerry, in 2003; and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include a son, Roland "Roly" Jr., and wife DeAnnda of Salina; a brother, Eldon of Quinter; three sisters, Eva Norton and Norma Eichman, both of Quinter, and Lorene Redmond of Billings, Mont.; four grandchildren, Angie Lassley of Wichita, Sara Bird of Salina and David and Lucas Bird of Hope; and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina 67401. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina, Salina Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1432 or Salina American Legion Post 62, in care of the mortuary. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday. |
