[From an unknown newspaper] Lloyd Fox Lloyd Charles Fox was born on a farm in Graham County, Kansas, October 19, 1917, to the late Leo and Lucy Fox. He attended the Prairie Dell school, also schools in Hill City and Lenora. On June 7, 1936, he married Ava Rollins in Colby. In 1938, with their infant daughter, Lois, they moved to Idaho, where Lloyd worked as a mechanic at Gooding, Fairfield and Jerome. While living in Jerome, a daughter, Doris, was born, and also twins, Geraldine and Gary. In 1948, the family moved to Englewood, Colorado, where later Ivan was born. Lloyd worked as a mechanic for an Oldsmobile Agency for sevral years. , then was in partnership, owning Wonder Motors Garage. With his partner, he sponsored a stock car for racing at Englewood Speedway. He worked for Gates Rubber Company for 17 years, retiring in 1982. Shortly after moving to Englewood, Lloyd and Ava joined the Gravel Gremlins Motorcycle Club, which was a major factor in their family life during the 50's and 60's. Lloyd also enjoyed bowling and belonged to The Better Half League at Broadway Bowl for 26 years. For the past ten years, Lloyd and Ava were active Supervisors of Shaklee Products. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in June of this year. On October 8, 1986, Lloyd passed away at his home in Englewood, after a short illness of Lou Gehrig's Disease and chronic lung and pulmonary disorder. He leaves his wife, Ava; daughters, Lois Coet and Geraldine Caron of Englewood, and Doris Weese of Alamogordo, New Mexico; sons, Gary of Hermosa Beach, California; and Ivan of Englewood; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; also a brother, Elwyn of Spokane, Washington, and a great number of relatives and friends. Services were held at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary, Saturday, October 11, 1986, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Helen Carol Naysmith, officiating. Music was by organist Myrtle Mcllree and soloist, Mr. Leo Frazier. Pallbearers were Frank Maus, Ray Shannep, Earl Maholland, Freddy Roesch, Bill Beye, and Wade Ballard. [From an unknown newspaper, May 1986] To Celebrate 50th Wedding Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Fox, Englewood, Colorado, will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary, Sunday, June 8. They will be honor guests at an open house from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at their home, 3232 West Stanford Avenue, Englewood, Colorado, with their children and grandchildren hosting the celebration. Their five children are Lois Coet, Geraldine Caron and Ivan Fox, all of Englewood; and Doris Weese of Alamogordo, New Mexico; and Gary Fox of Hermosa Beach, California. They have eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Lloyd Fox and Ava Rollins were married June 7, 1936, in Colby. Lloyd worked on construction until they moved to Gooding, Idaho, in 1938, where Lloyd worked as a mechanic. They moved to Englewood, Colorado, in 1948, and Lloyd continued working as a mechanic for an Oldsmobile Agency until 1964, when he started working for Gates Rubber co. He worked there 17 1/2 years and retired in 1982. Ava also worked for Gates Rubber Co. for 25 years and retired in 1978. Ava and Lloyd are Distributors for Shaklee Corp. and have their business in their home, which keeps them pretty busy. Lloyd is also kept pretty busy by people consulting him about their mechanical problems. |
