Irene Salladay HILL CITY -- Irene Salladay, 95, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009. She was born March 1, 1913, in rural Graham County to Ira James and Thirza May (Swaim) Winterowd. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in 1961; her parents; three sisters; and a brother. She is survived by a daughter, Yvonne Barron, of Canton, Ga.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at Hill City Christian Church, Hill City, with Pastors Mike Barnett and Darrel Anderson officiating. Burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Hill City. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City. Memorials may be made to Dawson Place Nursing Home. |

Irene Salladay Irene Salladay, 95, Hill City, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Dawson Place Nursing Home, Hill City. She was born March 1, 1913, in rural Graham County to Ira James and Thirza May (Swaim) Winterowd. She married Roy Calvin Salladay on June 6, 1934, in Hill City. He preceded her in death July 11, 1961. She was a homemaker. Survivors include a daughter, Yvonne Barron, Canton, Ga.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Hill City Christian Church; burial in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Hill City. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, both at Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City. Memorials are suggested to Memorial Lawn Cemetery in care of the funeral home. |
