Jessie Lucinda (Groharing) Riddle Obituaries

JESSIE LUCINDA (GROHARING) RIDDLE, 82, of Savanna died Thursday, January 20, 2000 at Mercy Medical Center North in Clinton, Iowa. Born June 13, 1917 in Savanna, she was the daughter of Howard and Jessie (Hitchcock) Groharing. She married Francis James “Bud” Riddle November 11, 1962 in Savanna. She was a 1935 graduate of Savanna High School . She had been a clerk for the National T Grocery Store in Savanna, and had been a telephone operator for the Savanna Army Depot for 10 years. She was a member of Savanna Bible Church, Ladies Missionary Group, and Take Off Pounds Sensibly. Surviving are her husband, Bud, of Savanna; a sister, Opal Cross of Appleton, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, and three brothers. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Savanna Bible Church with Brent Hall, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. A memorial fund has been established for the Savanna Bible Church Building Fund.

Jessie Riddle

SAVANNA, Ill. - Jessie L. Riddle, 82, of Savanna, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center-North Campus, Clinton, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Savanna Bible Church. Burial will be in Savanna Township Cemetery, Savanna.

Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna.

Jessie Groharing was born June 13, 1917, in Savanna. She married Francis "Bud" Riddle in 1962 in Savanna.

She was employed as a clerk at the former National T Grocery Store, Savanna, and 10 years as a telephone operator at Savanna Army Depot.

Memorials may be made to Savanna Bible Church Building Fund.

Survivors include her husband; and a sister, Opal Cross, Appleton, Wis.
