RUTH (SMITH) GROHARING, 86, of Davenport, formerly of Thomson, died Wednesday (June 2, 1993), in Mercy Hospital, Davenport. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Law-Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Boyd Ellefon of York Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Lower York Cemetery. Mrs. Groharing was born April 14, 1907 in Mt. Carroll to
Oscar and Adelia Roberts Smith. She married
Vernon Groharing, Jan. 22, 1927. He died Jan. 7, 1987. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crafts, crocheting and rug braiding. Survivors include a son,
Herbert of Davenport; five grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Suella Ehredt of Thomson. She was preceded by two sister.
