SAVANNA, Ill. -- Services for Guy E. Turney, Savanna, will be 10 a.m. Friday at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial will be in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Turney died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Vanderbilt Hospital, Nashville, Tenn. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, working in the Savanna area. He was born Sept. 29, 1907, in Savanna. He married Hazel Groharing in 1929 in Lanark. She died in 1997. Memorials may be made to Hickory Grove United Methodist Church in his name. Survivors include daughters, Dora Cecka, Henderson, Nev., Carole Watson, Energy, and Judy Basante, Nashville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
