Jay W. Bigelow

Fort Wayne IN United States - JAY W. BIGELOW, 61, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Born in Lima, OH, he retired from Consolidated Freightways Trucking and also worked at the Marriott Hotel. He was a US Army Vietnam War veteran and a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church and the Rolling Classics Car Club; "any one who owns a classic car, please drive to funeral and to cemetery in procession." Jay enjoyed collecting classic cars and working on them.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Bigelow of Leo; sons, Jeff (Rhonda) Bigelow of Ossian, Tim (Kris) Bigelow of Harlan, Steve Bigelow of Grabill; daughter, Lora Mann of Grabill; grandchildren, Alicia, Kirsten, Nolan, Brian, Mallori, Kyle, Alec, Lauren, Austin (Pete), Brooke; sister, Monta (John) Hirzel of Louden, TN; brother, John (Patricia) Bigelow of Middle Point, OH. Service is 2 p.m. Monday at Messiah Lutheran Church, 7211 Stellhorn Rd. with calling 1 hour prior. Pastor Forrest Van Gundy officiating. Calling 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Rd. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens with Military graveside rites by U.S. Army Military Honors Program.
