MARY (EDWARDS) POFFENBERGER , 77, of Mount Carroll, died Saturday (17 April 1982) in the Savanna Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Frank Funeral Home in Mount Carroll with the Rev. Cyrus Pollard, pastor of the Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mount Carroll. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Poffenberger was born Dec. 9, 1904 in Carroll County, the daughter of Mahlon and Eliza (Haynes) Edwards. She was united in marriage to Ernest Poffenberger on Feb. 3, 1953 in Mount Carroll. She was a member of the Mount Carroll Church of God and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by one brother, Chester Edward of Chadwick, two sisters, Mrs. Edna Huddleston and Mrs. Myrtle Gray, both of Savanna and one niece, Christeen Edwards of Chicago.
