[Austin Daily Herald, Austin, MN, Oct 30, 2001] Maybel E. Smith, 85 Maybel E. Smith, age 85, a former Austin resident, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Beatrice, Neb. to Dan and Vera (Rhodes) Foster. On Dec. 25, 1942, she married Roy A. Smith in Austin. She was a homemaker. She moved to Eagle Rock, Mo. in 1979 where she was a member of the Golden Harvest Club and the Eagle Rock Community Center. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Cassville, Mo. She lived in Carthage, Mo. since l998. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel F. Smith, Springfield, Mo.; LeRoy E. and Jeanie Smith, Carthage, Mo.; Allen D. Smith, Austin; daughter and son-in-law, Doris A. and James Frandle, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Don Foster, Brownsdale; Marvin "Bud" Foster, Brownsdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. Smith; parents, Dan and Vera Foster; two brothers; two grandsons. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, and on Monday one hour before the service at the funeral home. Service: 10:30 a.m., Monday, at the funeral home with Pastor Randy Petersen officiating. Honorary casket bearers will be Terry Foster and Dennis Foster. Casket bearers will be Brian Frandle, Jeffrey Smith, Brandon Smith, Kyle West, Randy Foster and Jeffrey Foster.
