[From the Courier, Findlay, OH, 16 Apr 2007] Lowell F. "Red" Hendricks Lowell F. "Red" Hendricks, 72, of Findlay, passed away at 2:05 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2007 at the Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on May 29, 1934 in Vanlue to the late Frank and Dortha (Sites) Hendricks. He married Sheila M. Pugh on April 20, 1957 in Vanlue and she survives. Lowell retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company in 1996 after 29? years and served with the Ohio National Guard. He was a lifetime member of the Ralph D. Cole Post 3 American Legion, Amvets #21, the D.A.V., a member of the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad, Cooper Old Timers Club, Carey Fire Department. He was actively involved with the Special Olympics, loved golfing and volunteered with many organizations. He loved his dogs, Sassie and Pepper. Also surviving him are sons, James F. (Sonja S.) Hendricks of Arlington and Mark A. Hendricks of Findlay; daughters, Dortha M. (David M.) Young and Melissa S. Hendricks, both of Findlay; brothers, Lynn L. "Gus" (Paulina) Hendricks of Carey and Charles "Chuck" (Sandy) Hendricks of Broadview Heights, Ohio; sisters, Ruth Ann Weisbrod of Lakewood, Ohio and Laura (Neil) Clark of Van Buren, Ohio; grandchildren, Jessica and Christopher Young, James W. Hendricks; a great-grandson, Nathan Hendricks. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Betty Puchta. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, with Reverend Chris Cravens officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Findlay where the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad will conduct full military rites. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County Special Olympics and/or the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
