June E. Lloyd, 65, of Worthington, Minn., formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at a Sioux Falls, S.D. hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. today at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Alex T. Washington officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until service time today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lloyd was born June 2, 1937, in Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest James and Winnifred Irene (Pauley) Shay. She attended and graduated from Mapleton High School.

She married Gaylen Lloyd on May 23, 1955, in Sioux City. The couple lived in Sioux City for 20 years, then moved to Luverne, Minn., where they lived for 19 years. They have residents of Worthington for the past five years. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Methodist faith in Sioux City and attended Whitfield United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the Post Office Auxiliary and enjoyed camping, cooking, time with her family and her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Gaylen Lloyd of Worthington; two sons and their wives, Joe and Kristi Lloyd of Inwood, Iowa, and Mark and Sally Lloyd of Brandon, S.D.; three daughters and their husbands, Penni and Brent Gilbert of Randolph, Neb., Julie and Marc Mozak of Sioux City and Susan and Timothy Middagh of Worthington, Minn.; a brother and his wife, James and Delores Shay of Sioux City; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Julia Gruis; and a niece, Teresa Gruis-Alkorn.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Gilbert, Blake Lloyd, Tony Mozak and Ross Houske. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin, Collin and Aydin Lloyd.
