[Spokesman-Review, Spokane, WA, September 9, 2009] CURRYER, Ronald "Ron" A. (Age 73) Of Chattaroy, WA, passed away on Friday, August 28, at the Good Samaritan Society of the Spokane Valley where he resided for the past 5 months. He was born on April 8, 1936, in Spokane. A memorial service will be held at the HAZEN AND JAEGER VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 1306 N Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA on Saturday, September 12, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Dennis Christensen will be officiating. Ron attended Bemis Elementary School and Northwest Christian High School in Spokane and later, Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta. He was best known for his hearty laugh, his love of sports, his dedication to his family, and his love for singing. He sang with the Joyful Noise Gospel Quartet (with his wife and three brothers-in-law) for several years, traveling to churches in Washington, Idaho, and Montana.Ron is survived by his five children: Becky (Pat) Bren of Wenatchee, WA, Sandi Blackburn of Spokane Valley, WA., Ronda (Kent) Dodge of Spokane Valley, WA., Daryl Curryer of Portland, OR, and Dustin Curryer of Spokane, WA; eight grandchildren, Kayla and Sam Bren, Doug, Sean and Alex Blackburn, and Tyson, Taylor and Tawni Dodge; and his sister, Jeanie Curryer, Colorado Springs, CO. Ron was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jeannie Ogden Curryer, his parents, Ralph and Naomi (Neiswender) Curryer, and his son, Daniel Curryer. A private inurnment has been arranged at the Chattaroy Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Good Samaritan Society of the Spokane Valley, at 17121 E. 8th, Spokane Valley, WA 99016. |
[Deer Park Tribune, Deer Park, WA, September 16, 2009] Ronald A. Curryer, 73 A memorial service was held on Sept. 12 at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home, N1306 Pines Road, Spokane Valley, with the Rev. Dennis Christensen officiating, for former Chattaroy resident Ronald A. "Ron" Curryer, 73, who died on Aug. 28 in Spokane Valley. Born on April 8, 1936, to the late Ralph and Naomi (Neiswander) Curryer in Spokane, he attended Bemis Elementary School and Northwest Christian High School in Spokane and later, Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta. Mr. Curryer lived in Chattaroy for many years before moving to Spokane Valley earlier this year. He sang with the Joyful Noise Gospel Quartet (with his wife, Jeannie, and three brothers-in-law) for several years, traveling to churches in Washington, Idaho, and Montana. Ron is survived by five children: Becky Bren of Wenatche, Sandi Blackburn and Ronda Dodge, both of Spokane Valley, Daryl Curryer of Portland, Ore., and Dustin Curryer of Spokane; one sister, Jeanie Curryer of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and eight grandchildren. His wife, Jeannie Ogden Curryer, and a son, Daniel Curryer, both predeceased him. Private inurnment followed the service at the Chattaroy Cemetery.
