He died 16 January 1966 at age 77 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia. He is buried at Mt. Pleasants Presbyterian Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, Monroe, West Virginia.

• About 1913, at age 23, he married Bertha L. Heller, who was age 33. Apparently known as Della, she is the daughter of R. W. Heller and Rebecca Baker. She was born 5 January 1879 in Farmersville, Montgomery, Ohio. She died 17 September 1937 at age 58 in Ronceverte, Greenbrier, West Virginia -- the result of falling out of the hayloft in the barn and fracturing her skull. She was buried 20 September 1937 in Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio.
• He married Elizabeth Shields Erskine. She is the daughter of James Harrison Erskine and Mattie Martha Forren. She was born 13 September 1905 in West Virginia. She died 16 October 1986 at age 81 in Sinks Grove near Rocky Point, Monroe, West Virginia. She is buried at Mt. Pleasants Presbyterian Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, Monroe, West Virginia.
