Mayo D Conner is the son of Emma Jane Ellis and James A. Conner. He was born 30 June 1888 in Alderson, Monroe, West Virginia. He died 9 September 1966 at age 78 in Kerrville, Kerr, Texas. He is buried at Panhandle Cemetery, Panhandle, Carson, Texas.

• On 29 January 1936, at age 47, he married Irene Bessie O'Keefe, who was age 24, in Amarillo, Potter, Texas. Bessie, as she is known, is the daughter of Thomas Augustus O'Keefe and Mabel E. Young. She was born 30 November 1911 in Carson county, Texas. She died 23 October 1992 at age 80 in Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas. She is buried at Panhandle Cemetery, Panhandle, Carson, Texas.

1. Eleanor June Conner was born about 1940.
   • On 5 January 1957, at age 17, she married William Roland Smith, who was age 20, in Springdale, Washington, Arkansas. He was born 28 May 1936. He died 15 December 1982 at age 46 in Galveston, Galveston, Texas. On 20 December 1982, he was buried at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas. This marriage apparently ended in dovorce.
   • She married John W. Greiner. He was born about 1929.

Notes

Mayo's WWII draft card indicates that "D" is his actual middle name -- it is not an initial that stands for something else.

The name "Mayo D" seems rather unusual (at least by today's standards). But a quick Google search shows many people from this era with that name. There must be someone or something that all these people have been named after, but I cannot discover who or what it is. If anyone knows, I would love to hear from you.
