Martha MacAdam Sawhilll is the daughter of Anne MacAdam Scott and Donald Brush Sawhill. She was born in 1962.

She was age 23 when in 1985 she married Andrew Roy Ivy, in Oregon. He is the son of Alvie L. Ivy.
