Betty Sue Kite is the daughter of Pearl P. Scott and Don Roscoe Kite (Sr.). She was born 19 November 1921 in Dorcas, Grant, West Virginia.

She was about age 22 when about 1944 she married James Edward Harvey, who was about age 28. Bill, as he is known, is the son of Osber E. Harvey and Eva M. Bare. He was born 8 December 1915 in Lock Ghelly, Fayette, West Virginia. He died 6 July 2010 at age 94.

1. Elwood Scott Harvey was born in 1946.
2. Mark Edward Harvey was born in 1954.
   • In 1993, at age 39, he married Melanie Louise Spaulding, who was age 31, in Florida. She was born in 1962.
