She died 12 March 1959 at age 66 in Ronceverte, Greenbrier, West Virginia. She was buried 15 March 1959 at Hillcrest Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, Greenbrier, West Virginia.

She was age 25 when she married Ira Lynn Rider, who was age 29, at Sallie's parents' home in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia, on 20 June 1917. He is the son of James Richard T. Rider and Eliza Jane Wade. He was born 12 November 1887 in Neola, Greenbrier, West Virginia. He died 7 February 1977 at age 89 in Fairlea, Greenbrier, West Virginia. He is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs, Greenbrier, West Virginia.
