Floyd Eugene Scott is the son of Isaac Eugene Scott and Hazel Lee Brown. He was born 6 December 1926 in Potter county, Texas. He died 3/4 March 2011 at age 84 in Panhandle, Carson, Texas. He was buried 8 March 2011 at Panhandle Cemetery, Panhandle, Carson, Texas.

He was age 24 when he married Elva Cahruth Land, who was age 21, at Saint John's Methodist Church in Lubbock, Lubbock, Texas, on 22 December 1950. Kit, as she is known, is the daughter of Floyd C. Land and Mary Ruth Lemmon. She was born 22 August 1929 in Tulia, Swisher, Texas. She died 6 February 2002 at age 72 in Texas. She was buried 11 February 2002 at Panhandle Cemetery, Panhandle, Carson, Texas.
