George Herman Foster (Jr.) is the son of George Herman Foster (Sr.) and Pauline Marie Gwinn. He was born 7 August 1926 in Monroe county, West Virginia. He died 1 May 2008 at age 81 in Rainbow City, Etowah, Alabama. He was buried 4 May 2008 at Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, Greenbrier, West Virginia.

On 30 September 1949, at age 23, he married Barbara Rita Varley, who was age 17, in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of Willard Dewey Varley and Marcella McCloskey. She was born 2 December 1931 in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Pennsylvania. She died 14 June 2007 at age 75 in Rainbow City, Etowah, Alabama. She was buried 17 June 2007 at Alderson Cemetery, Alderson, Greenbrier, West Virginia.
