Laura Eva Burdette is the daughter of Semma Ramus Scott and Lewis Allen Burdette. She was born 2 August 1889 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia. She died 14 December 1977 at age 88 in Columbia, Boone, Missouri. She was buried 17 December 1977 at New Lebanon Cemetery, Pickaway, Monroe, West Virginia.

On 28 December 1921, at age 32, she married Guy Fredrick Hedrick, who was age 32, in Alderson, Monroe, West Virginia. Fred, as he is known, is the son of John F. Hedrick and Nancy J. Lemons and the brother of Everett Lee Hedrick, who married Laura's first cousin, Ora Loxie Scott.. He was born 30 July 1889 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia. He died 18 March 1968 at age 78 in Ronceverte, Greenbrier, West Virginia. He was buried 20 March 1968 at New Lebanon Cemetery, Pickaway, Monroe, West Virginia.
