Harold Burdette Hedrick is the son of Laura Eva Burdette and Guy Fredrick Hedrick. He was born 11 May 1924 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia. He died 23 October 2005 at age 81 in Columbia, Boone, Missouri.

On 18 December 1948, at age 24, he married Virginia Katherine Skaggs, who was age 22, in Morgantown, Monongalia, West Virginia. She is the daughter of Clarence H. Skaggs and Lillian Ann Horton. She was born 12 August 1926 in Alderson, Greenbrier, West Virginia.
