Helen Burdette is the daughter of James Lake Burdette and Carrie Ruth Foster. She was born 23 May 1914 in Wolf Creek, Monroe, West Virginia. She died 27 May 1986 at age 72 in Lewisburg, Greenbrier, West Virginia. She is buried at Sinks Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia.

She married William Paul Hinkle. He is the son of James William Hinkle and Minnie Belle Hedrick. He was born 6 July 1909 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia. He died 6 February 1975 at age 65 in Fairlea, Greenbrier, West Virginia. He was buried 9 February 1975 at Sinks Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia.
