William Morton Scott is the son of Harvey Alexander Scott and Nannie Bell Sloneker. He was born 28 July 1889 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia. He died 13 March 1969 at age 79 in Ronceverte, Greenbrier, West Virginia. He was buried 15 March 1969 at Scott Family Cemetery, Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia.

On 25 June 1913, at age 23, he married Eula Wilson Fulwider, who was age 21, at her parents' home in Richlands, Greenbrier, West Virginia. She is the daughter of Jacob Calvin Fulwider and Sarah Ella Shockley. She was born 17 August 1891 in Williamsburg, Greenbrier, West Virginia. She died in August 1983 at age 91 in Sweet Springs, Monroe, West Virginia. She is buried at Scott Family Cemetery, Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia.
