He died 28 August 1951 at age 58 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia. He was buried 31 August 1951 at Scott Family Cemetery, Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia.

On 1 October 1919, at age 26, he married Cora L. Ratliff, who was age 21, in Union, Monroe, West Virginia. She is the daughter of Newton James Ratliff and Hannah Ellen McNeil. She was born 19 September 1898 in Whitewood, Buchanan, Virginia. She died 8 May 1956 at age 57 in Ronceverte, Greenbrier, West Virginia. She was buried 11 May 1956 at Scott Family Cemetery, Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia.

1. Kyle Alexander Scott was born 22 July 1920 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia. He died 14 March 1983 at age 62 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio.
   • On 11 July 1947, at age 26, he married Dorothy Lee Wiley, who was age 21, in Union, Monroe, West Virginia. She is the daughter of Walter R. Wiley and Jaunita. She was born about January 1926 in Union, Monroe, West Virginia.
2. Roy C. Scott was born 31 May 1922 in West Virginia. He died in WWII action on 1 March 1945 at age 22 in Germany. He was buried 21 December 1947 at Scott Family Cemetery, Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia.
3. Lillian A. Scott was born 17 May 1924 in Monroe county, West Virginia. She died 12 May 2000 at age 75 in Union, Monroe, West Virginia.
   • On 10 November 1942, at age 18, she married Clovis Beecher Crim, who was age 18, in Pickaway, Monroe, West Virginia. Beecher, as he is known, is the son of Floyd Dewitt Crim and Stella Sparks. He was born 29 March 1924 in Pullman, Ritchie, West Virginia. He died 19 December 2007 at age 83 in Greenbrier county, West Virginia. On 22 December 2007, he was buried at Green Hill Cemetery, Monroe, West Virginia.
4. Benjamin Lewis Scott was born 6 June 1927 in West Virginia. He died 12 January 2002 at age 74 in Elkland, Webster, Missouri. He is buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
5. Norma Jean Scott was born 28 June 1929 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia.
6. Wanda Ann Scott was born 30 May 1932 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia.
7. Earl Thomas Scott was born 13 April 1934 in West Virginia. He died 15 September 1994 at age 60 in Warsaw, Richmond, Virginia.
8. Mark Edwin Scott was born about 1937 in West Virginia.
