Nelson Eugene Winebrenner is the son of Frances Marion Egolf and Ward Winebrenner. He was born 12 August 1920 in Thorncreek, Whitley, Indiana. He died 6 June 1993 at age 72 in Columbia City, Whitley, Indiana. He was buried 9 June 1993 at South Park Cemetery, Whitley, Indiana.

• On 24 July 1937, at age 16, he married Caroline May Loe, who was age 19. She is the daughter of Daniel Henry Loe and Orra "Dawn" Whitman. She was born 25 December 1917 in Whitley county, Indiana. She died 20 February 2002 at age 84 in Columbia City, Whitley, Indiana. She was buried 23 February 2002 at South Park Cemetery, Whitley, Indiana.
