Nellie M. Baker is the daughter of Benjamin Baker and Minnie Flora Schoeny. She was born 8 November 1905 in Owensville, Gibson, Indiana. She died 14 February 1982 at age 76 in Albion, Noble, Indiana. She is buried at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell, Noble, Indiana.

On 10 May 1923, at age 17, she married George Angus Leatherman, who was age 23, in Dayton, Montgomery, Ohio. He is the son of Daniel Thomas Leatherman and Martha Adaline Shipley. He was born 24 March 1900 in Keokuk Falls, Pottawatomie, Oklahoma. He died in October 1982 at age 82 in Albion, Noble, Indiana. He is buried at Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell, Noble, Indiana.
