On 8 September 1855, he married Malinda Garrison in Whitley County, Indiana. She is the daughter of Zechariah S. Garrison and Ann Lee Ruckman. She was born 15 December 1836 in Richland County, Ohio. She died 4 July 1911 at age 74 in Columbia City, Whitley, Indiana. She is buried at Egolf Cemetery, Whitley County, Indiana.

She was born 3 August 1876 in Thorncreek township, Whitley, Indiana. She died 4 August 1942 at age 66 in Columbia Township, Whitley, Indiana. She is buried at Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City, Whitley, Indiana.
