Catherine Egolf is the daughter of Susan Shriner and Adam Egolf. She was born 29 June 1829 in Stryker, Licking, Ohio. She died 20 December 1912 at age 83.

On 6 September 1849, at age 20, she married William Gaff, he was age 27. He was born 10 July 1822 in Stark County, Ohio. He died 19 August1902 at age 80.
