• On 26 February 1896, she married (1) Charles S. Smith in Whitley county, Indiana. He is the son of John Smith. He was born in Jul 1875 in Indiana. He died 26 Mar 1905 at age 29 in Brazeto, Cole, Missouri. He was buried 28 Mar 1905.
• On 4 December 1928, she married (2) William M. Mathias (Sr.). He is the son of John Mathias and Elizabeth Hess. He was born 5 Jun 1863 in Bucyrus, Crawford, Ohio. He died 25 Apr 1940 at age 77 near Larwill, Whitley, Indiana. He is buried at Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton, Kosciusko, Indiana.

Notes

The 1910 census (Thorncreek, Whitley, IN. p. 3) indicates that Rosa had given birth to five children -- four of whom were still living -- but only two appear with her in the census. Since Charles' obituary says he leaves 3 children (Hazel being born after her father's death), child number four must have been already deceased by the time of Charles' death. This child is otherwise unknown to us except for the reference in the census.
