Sarah Ann Egolf is the daughter of Peter Egolf and Mary E. Engle. She was born 7 May 1850 in Thorncreek Township, Whitley, Indiana. She died in 1928 at age 78 in Grant, Newaygo, Michigan. She outlived all but two of her children. She is buried at Ashland Center Cemetery, Ashland Center, Newaygo, Michigan.

On 21 April 1867, at age 16, she married Jacob Frederick Treiber, who was age 29, in Grant, Newaygo, Michigan. He is the son of Gotlieb Treiber and Elizabeth Ziegler. He was born 22 January 1838 in Ludwigsburg, Germany. He died in Ashland, Newaygo, Michigan and is buried at Ashland Center Cemetery, Ashland Center, Newaygo, Michigan.

   • On 15 February 1905, at age 30, she married Edward D. Monroe, who was age 42, in Ashland, Newaygo, Michigan. This was Edward's second marriage. After Margaret's death, Edward would marry Margaret's sister, Rosina. Edward is the son of David Monroe and Mary Isabelle Streeter. He was born in 1862 in Alpine, Kent, Michigan. He died in June 1924 at age 61. He is buried at Marne Cemetery, Marne, Ottawa, Michigan.
5. Julia Frederica Treiber was born 1 March 1876 in Newaygo county, Michigan. She died 6 January 1912 at age 35 in Grant, Newaygo, Michigan. She was buried 8 January 1912 at Ashland Center Cemetery, Ashland Center, Newaygo, Michigan.
6. Rosina Treiber was born 8 Jan 1878 in Ashland, Newaygo, Michigan. She died in 1959 at age 80. She is buried at Marne Cemetery, Marne, Ottawa, Michigan.
   • On 11 August 1915, at age 37, she married Edward D. Monroe in Grand Rapids, Kent, Michigan. He was the widowed husband of her deceased sister, Margaret. He was age 52 when he and Rosina wed. As noted above, he is the son of David Monroe and Mary Isabelle Streeter. He was born in 1862 in Alpine, Kent, Michigan. He died in June 1924 at age 61. He is buried at Marne Cemetery, Marne, Ottawa, Michigan.
